Youth Classes

One for All Kids

Our youth classes provide a safe space where your young artist can feel comfortable to explore and express themselves however they seem fit. There is no wrong way to create, and we never discourage our artists from doing their own thing! We never treat our youth artists “like a kid”. No matter what age or level, our artists at One For All are treated with the utmost respect, held to high (yet reasonable) expectations and are given many options and activities to choose from to engage in. Our class sessions last 8 weeks at a time, with some classes being offered all year. Below you will find our class information and descriptions, and at the bottom of the page you can find the form to register for classes. These classes are available at both of our community locations (Woodland Ave Philadelphia, Thorndale PA). Be sure to take advantage of our Membership and Class Pass deals this session!

Session Class Pass: $325 for 8 weeks, this will allot you unlimited classes.

Drop In Class: $55 for a one time class.

For payment options other than our online portal please contact our Director.

Siblings that are older or younger than this age range are welcomed to attend, as long as artists under the age of 3 are accompanied by an adult the whole class.

This special class came to be from our very own One For All Kids themselves! We create our own artwork with similar themes to what we learn about then share about our thoughts and art at the end of each class.

    Painting the Stars

, $50 per student, Class Pass Accepted

Explore the skies with us and learn how to create different types of skyscapes using color, depth and texture. Each week we will paint on paper using watercolor and acrylic paints. We will look at different types of skies starting with a city skyline and ending with a universe outer space painting.

  • Magic Walls

Saturdays from noon-3pm Starting in October.

Our K-12 artists will help add to our in progress murals outside that span the entire building.

  • Beginner Portfolio Development

    Mondays at 5pm

$55 per student, Class Pass Accepted

This class is ideal for teens who take creating very seriously, and are considering a career in the arts. The start of this class series will teach how to develop a professional, presentable body of work, what you need to include and why. Then, dive into concept creation and consistency and move into actually building and creating work to put into your very own portfolio. Finally, we will teach how to properly mount and present the work as well as how to photograph the work.

    Conceptual Color Field Painting

    Wednesdays at 5pm

$55 per student, Class Pass Accepted

It all begins with color. From the moment we open our eyes at birth color plays an influential role in our lives. In this advanced class for teenage artists, we learn all about the meanings of colors and their affect on us. Each week we will dive into the psychology of a different color, followed by a guided color meditation that will inspire a monochromatic painting on a square canvas. We will end class by displaying and sharing our conceptual grid of color field paintings with one another.

    Portrait and Figure Drawing

    Tuesdays at 5:30pm

$55 per student, Class Pass Accepted

Many High Schools show students how to draw a portrait to the basic extent, but do they bring in live models? We didn’t think so. Starting out, we will dive deep into proportions and the differences between masculine and feminine anatomy. We will draw standing at our easels using vine charcoal to start, and by the end of class we will be using full color soft pastels. Not quite comfortable with fully nude models for your teen? Not to worry, our models will be clothed!

  • Every other Friday 6-9pm

$80 per student or Class Pass

Go ahead and make Friday’s your date night! Drop off your K-12 artists with us- we will order pizza, do an art project and play some games. All ages are welcome as we believe in the kids teaching kids motto. By the end of the night, your artists will have so many new friends and experiences that they will be eager to return!

Please note: Our Philadelphia location courses maintain a different schedule than our Thorndale location.

Juniors Team

Teen Mentorship Program

Ongoing acceptance

While our teenagers are welcome to participate in any of our Adult or Youth classes, we encourage participation in our Juniors Team. The Juniors Team is One For All’s Teen Mentorship Program where students work with us one on one on a volunteer basis and assist in creative professional roles within the organization and the surrounding community to really figure out if pursuing a career in the arts is for them. We will also help guide our teens through the college application process, and answer any questions they may have if they wish to pursue higher education within the arts. Interested?
